Dear Parents/Caregivers
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to unite against COVID-19. Our move to Alert Level 1 this week provides us with certainty that it is safe for all children to attend school. Your children’s learning, health and wellbeing are important to us and we can’t wait to see them next week. I am sure they will be excited to see their friends and teachers. We look forward to greeting all of our students and making them feel safe and welcome.
At Sunnybrae, we will continue to follow all appropriate health measures including maintaining recommended cleaning practices and encouraging good hygiene standards. We will also continue to remind people to stay home if they are unwell and to seek medical advice. Thank you for being part of our school community and giving us the opportunity to educate your children.

School Closed for Teacher Only Days

Our Board of Trustees has approved two Accord Teacher Only Days for 2020. The school will be closed for instruction on both these days. The Teachers, Teacher Aides, Support Staff and Student Teachers will join together to undertake professional development.

Pink Shirt Day

This October people across Aotearoa will come together to take action against bullying. Students are encouraged to wear pink on Friday 16 October or you can purchase the official ‘Pink Shirt Day’ t-shirts from Cotton On. Gold coin donations go to support this worthy cause.

Melanoma Awareness Mufti Day

How can you Get Spotted? Wear spotty clothes to school on Friday 23 October! Melanoma NZ encourages everyone to practise sun smart behaviour by wearing our best sunnies, a wide-brimmed hat, long-sleeves and long pants. So let’s get creative, have fun and most importantly, stay safe in the sun and look after the skin you are in. Gold coin donations go to support this worthy cause.
