Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Today it was announced by the Prime Minister that Auckland and Coromandel will move to Alert Level 4 at 11:59 pm today, Tuesday 17 August 2021 for seven days. The rest of New Zealand will be at Alert Level 4 for three days.
We will begin our Home Learning programme with Wellbeing Wednesday to allow families time to settle into their lockdown routines. Teachers will formally begin the Home Learning programme and Zoom lessons on Thursday of this week. Your child’s teacher will send you the programme on Wednesday 18 August at 3:00 pm via Seesaw. We are working behind the scenes to create wonderful learning opportunities for your children and will continue to do so if the lockdown continues beyond 7 days.
It is important that we look after each other’s wellbeing during this time. Our Wellbeing Team will provide some ideas and these will be shared with our school community each Wednesday.
The teachers will hold Zoom sessions with their students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
No School Devices Distributed during Alert Level 4
Due to Alert Level 4 restrictions, we are unable to distribute devices to families.
I wanted to reassure you that our staff and the members of our Board of Trustees will support you and your family throughout the length of this lockdown.
School Playgrounds Closed
Playgrounds have been closed to the public. COVID-19 Alert Level 4 does not permit families to take their children to the school playgrounds to play.

Thank you to the Essential Workers within the Sunnybrae Community
A great big thank you to our parents/caregivers who are Essential Workers. Please know we all appreciate your sacrifices. We are doing our part by staying home.

Wellbeing Wednesday Activities
Focus: Take Notice – Remember the simple things that bring you joy.
Favourite Spaces – Where can you go in your home where you feel cosy, safe and calm?
Mindful Colouring
Create your own mindful colouring page by tracing around an object or your hands, or even drawing lines over a picture. And then colour each shape in mindfully – paying attention to how your fingers move and what it feels like holding a pencil and the movements you make to stay in the lines.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind Regards
Lorene Hurd Principal
