Spotlight on Year 3 & 4 Quiz Afternoon Student Recount: Yesterday (on Monday), after lunch we did a Human Body Quiz at Sunnybrae Normal School with the Year 3/4 students and teachers. First we got into groups. In my group were Shu and Betina. We had to make group names. Our name was the GOATs (the Greatest of All Time). Before we could start we went to the covered turf to listen to the rules. Ms Scott told us all the rules we had to remember. Then we could start. We all spread out so nobody else could know our answers. Then we got a runner. My runner was Shu. All the runners ran to their teacher when Mrs. Olliver blew a whistle. Shu ran to get the first question from the teacher (Mrs Blair). The first question was “How many parts of your brain are there?” We had four tries until we got it right. After that we were racing through the quiz. Fast. At last it was the end of the quiz and we got first! Can you believe it? Then Ms Clow called “Come to the field” so we did. Ms Clow asked us who was first, then second, then third and so on. After that we went back to class and the quiz was done. Phew, what a day! By Henry – Room13
Yesterday all the Year 3 and 4 classes did a quiz race at the covered turf. Our team name was called The Seahorses. I was the writer and Cruz was the runner. There was some hard words and some easy words. Our team came second place but it didn’t matter. Some people were playing games and shouting. My favourite thing in the quiz race was cheering for other teams because they worked hard, so was my team. When the quiz was finished I had to run to the tree then back. When we went inside we talked about it. By Vega Room 15
Yesterday afternoon after lunch Year Three and Fours were going to go to a human body quiz. First we got into teams. Next we decided the team names. Our team name was Animals. After that it was time for the quiz. Each person had a job. We were eagerly waiting for the whistle to blow. When the whistle blew the runner sprinted to get a question. The reader reads the questions and says it to the writer. Then we think a lot and tell the answer. Some people needed clues so they ran to their own teacher and gets a clue. Number two question was very hard, it was what is the longest bone in your body. It was a femur. I had so many favourite things like reading and having fun and playing. I really want to do another quiz. By Aashritha Room 14
