Attendance at Sunnybrae As a school, we monitor the attendance of all students in week 5 and 10 of every term. The Ministry of Education has provided schools with attendance targets to attain. Below is the table that shows how we as a school community are tracking towards these targets at the end of Term 3. It is important that we continue to work together to ensure that the students in our community attend school regularly i.e. over 91% of the time. Please remember we are here to support you to ensure that your child/children attend school regularly and arrive at school on time. Having your child at school by 8:45 am at the latest, ensures that they can get organised for the day ahead and have time to connect with their friends before the school day begins.

PTA UPDATE Colour Run Fundraiser The PTA is excitied to announce the Crazy Colour Run event as a major fundraising event this term on Friday 22 November. We’re doing this to raise much needed money for our new playground upgrade.
The Crazy Colour Run is all about Fun! It will be a huge colourful mess and is undoubtably one of the most exciting days on our school’s calendar. Participation is the aim, so please make sure your child attends on the day and cheer the other kids on!
Details on how to set up a fundraising account will be sent to all parents/caregivers via Hero on Monday and information brochures will be sent home with students. We look forward to having your full support with this fun event.

Sewing Helper We are seeking a volunteer to help sew up the hem of the black stage curtain. If you have sewing skills and a little time to spare, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. The work needs to be done on-site at the school, and we’ll provide all the necessary materials. Please let us know if you can help by calling the office on 443 5058 or email office@sunnybrae.school.nz

SAFTEY AT SCHOOL: Arriving at School If using the shops carpark for drop off, please make sure you park in the angle parking so that your child can exit the vehicle and use the footpath in front of the shops. Dropping children at the parallel parking spots is very dangerous as they are required to cross the vehicle entry to the car park. Be considerate of the shop owners as they need open parking spots for their customers. Please do not park in their parking lot for long periods of time during the school day. Our parent volunteer crossing monitors are there to assist the children crossing the busy Sunnybrae Road. Please follow their directive and only cross when they have instructed. They are also responsible for keeping the flow of traffic moving and may hold students until there is a group to avoid unnecessary multiple crossings. We thank you for your co-operation.

Nuie Language Week Today our Nuie students gathered for a photo together – celebrating how proud they are to be Nuiean.

Hats on at School During Term 4 and Term 1, all students are required to wear a black Sunnybrae bucket hat to protect them from the sun. These can be purchased from NZ Uniforms. Please make sure to clearly name your child’s hat. NZ Uniforms offer a naming service, for a small additional fee, on any school clothing items purchased from their store. Any unnamed hats, that are handed into the office, will be redistributed to the Donated Uniform shop.
