The Community Engagement Team has been working behind the scenes to meet our Strategic Goal for 2020 to create a communication system that addresses the needs of our culturally diverse families.
This is an ongoing process and we have gathered feedback from parents, staff, other schools and outside agencies.
These are the communication tools we have been working on this year:
Weekly Newsletter
- New layout with a contents page for easy navigation
- Preferred language feature
Paper notices / Emails to parents
- Keep the paper notices to a minimum
- Use Seesaw as a communication tool instead of paper notices or emails
- A new online payment system called Kindo for different school activities
Website (currently being updated)
- New layout
- User friendly
- Meets the needs of our prospective and current parents
SNS App (currently being updated)
- Meets the needs of our current parents

This week our PB4L focus has been on showing respect and independence during assemblies.
Our lessons have focused on:
- Entering and exiting the hall quietly.
- Making a good choice about where to sit.
- Sitting quietly.

At school this week we have been learning about emotions. This is all about developing the children’s emotional literacy. Emotional literacy is the ability to name and recognise different emotions which is actually really important in children being able to manage them. It can also help us to better understand and empathise with others.
Sparklers at Home has the same activity we’re using in the classroom The Faces Game, but for use at home. It would be really great if you could play this game with your child too. The more opportunities your child has to talk about emotions, the more they will recognise them and manage them. The Faces Game is also lots of fun!
