This week our wellbeing tip focuses on the importance of arriving at school by 8.45 am each day. At Sunnybrae we believe when students arrive at school by 8.45 am, they have time to get themselves organised for the day and then have the opportunity to connect with their friends before the school day begins. This leads to a more settled start to the day for both themselves and the rest of the class. When a student has made these social connections, they are better equipped to cope with whatever the school day presents.

Earthquake Drill Last week Sunnybrae took part in National ShakeOut Day. The purpose of this event was to have participating schools and businesses hold an earthquake drill and to remember to DROP, COVER and HOLD during an earthquake.
Lockdown Drill On Monday 7 November, we will have a planned lockdown drill. The purpose of this drill is to ensure students know the emergency procedures if a lockdown announcement is made when they are outside during lunchtime. Teachers will share a presentation outlining procedures for an emergency lockdown with students prior to the drill. Following the lockdown drill, the classroom will discuss the event and provide feedback.
