Take some time for yourself and your family away from devices. Make any time you have off count. The pull towards a device each day is very real, even just to check emails, but do take some time to have a break from it and do something different. Do what works for you, maybe allocate an hour at the start of the day, have a device-free day, every second day or whatever works for you.
Get out in Nature It sounds simple and it is! We are so fortunate to have so many local parks, small bush areas and close beaches on the North Shore. Feeling a connection with nature is good for the mind and body.
- Take a walk along the beach, with your shoes off
- Walk along the edge of the water with bare feet, a little chilly, but very invigorating
- Walk on the grass with bare feet
- Put your raincoats on and go for a walk in the rain
Listen to music and if all else fails….dance! It is a great stress relief and perhaps a good laugh for everyone in your household!

SPORTS UPDATE: Junior Cross Country Despite rain the Year 1-3 students were enthusiastic about running in the Junior Cross Country last Thursday. After weeks of training the students were ready to show all the progress they had made and cheer on their peers. In fact I think they had even more fun because of the rain! Thank you to the Year 6 students who helped encourage and guide the students around the course and the parents who came out in their array of coloured umbrellas to cheer on the students.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Lockdown Drill As part of our ongoing monitoring of our Emergency Procedures we had an indoor lockdown drill on the morning of Monday 21 November. Soon after the lockdown announcement was made members of our Senior Leadership Team walked around the school checking the external doors were locked and that students and staff we secure and silent. These drills also test our indoor and outdoor speakers ensuring emergency announcements can be heard. Following the drills and the ‘all clear’ announcement is made teachers complete a debrief document with their class.
