PTA UPDATE: Family Fun Fest What a fun night we had for our first Sunnybrae Family Fun Fest since 2020. Thank you to all who came and supported this event. We saw many happy faces and that is always our main aim. All the carnival games were well received but the most popular by far was the chocolate coin toss game! That was so much fun to watch. Overall we’ve made just over $7,000 with this event which is a great start to our year. This couldn’t be achieved without your support, the generosity of our sponsors and people who donate towards this event. And of course a big thank you to our PTA team who are a small but mighty group who have managed to create this wonderful event for everyone to enjoy. Looking forward to a lot more fun to come this year. Contact the office if you would like to join our PTA.
Winners from the night are: Teddy Raffle #1 – Cherry Higginson, Teddy Raffle #2 – Yuko Tanaka, Sunnybee Plushie – Megha Sai Adusumalli from Room 14, Sand Dig Lego – Reachney Hong from Room 17.

Big thanks to Hine Clarke and Michael Howell for the Lego prizes, Mon Subritzky for making the Sunnybee Plushie that was raffled and Chris McPherson for the two Easter Teddy Raffles. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

SPORTS RECAP: Year 5 & 6 Soccer Tournament On Thursday 23 February two teams worth of eager Year 5 & 6’s walked to McFetridge Park for an action packed morning of soccer. We had a blast and it was so awesome to see our school RICE values being displayed throughout the morning and great sportsmanship. A huge thank you to our parent helpers. As we know, these events cannot go ahead without your help and support. An extra shout out goes to Ian Kinsey (Kate’s Dad) for stepping in and helping out the Northern Rovers by umpiring a lot of our games. Thank you so much. The Northern Rovers donated a bag of goodies to the school for attending. We are so grateful for the new soccer balls for our school. If you are thinking about joining a soccer club for the season, for both girls and boys, have a look at their website: www.northernroversfc.org.nz

Swimming Today your child will come home with a swimming certificate. This certificate celebrates the skills your child has acquired over the swimming sessions held earlier this term. Thank you to the Sunnybrae Board of Trustees for funding these swimming lessons for all of our students. Learning to swim is a very important skill for our students.
