While our school is very well resourced, to continue to provide a quality education it is necessary to generate additional income to maintain and extend the programmes and resources. We raise income, for example, through the hireage of school facilities, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) generated fundraising and applications to various funding agencies, eg, ASB Trust. We also ask that parents make the following donation: $180 per student (maximum of $400 per family)
Primary schools very much depend on this voluntary donation that equates to approximately 75 cents per child a day to provide each student with access to additional high quality resources such as:
The school donation qualifies as a donation for tax purposes and consequently you can recoup $50 of the donation through the Inland Revenue IR 526 claim form (available from this link IRD website). This tax relief brings the net cost of the donation down to approximately $110, which equates to approximately 50 cents per day.
